Places to Live

Connecticut offers a wide range of housing opportunities for both older adults and young persons living with disability. This section will walk you through these accommodations so you can better determine what works for you and your loved ones, emotionally, physically and financially, balancing the desire for independent living with the need for care and services.
A vast majority of older adults and persons with disabilities are able to remain in their home by accessing care and support services through the community.  Click here to find information on Finding Care and Supports.

For more information on Paying for housing and services, please visit the Paying for Your Needs section of this website.

Housing Options Chart

The "Housing Options Chart" provides an overview of some of the housing options available for older adults and persons with disabilities. Other options also may be available depending on your needs or type of disability. They are addressed separately in the Places to Live for Older Adults and the Places to Live for Persons with Disabilities sections of this website.
